A Colorful Place of Vibrance
Make jewelry, bedazzle a painting, sketch the mountain, create a self portrait using pine needles! The visual arts at Wa-Klo provide girls a safe haven to take artistic risks. Painting and sketching classes are able to sit and view the mountain as each camper learns perspective and how to render it on an art pad. Camp is the place to shine, to take a chance, and leave it all in the studio.
Arts and Crafts
When it comes to visual arts, there are no limitations to the camper’s imagination. Stay within the lines, draw outside the lines, paint the sun purple, create a lopsided mug, or a unique piece of jewelry, and discuss all the artistic options with friends and teachers in class.
Painting and Sketching
All the world’s a canvas at Wa-Klo. While sitting along the water’s edge, campers learn perspective, shading, and the color pallet while sketching Mount Monadnock or other beautiful views. Because of the idyllic atmosphere and staff who offer guidance instead of judgment, a camper feels free to express herself through artistic creation. Basics are taught and individual interpretation is encouraged in a variety of mediums. Charcoals, pencils, acrylics, water color are all used to create a personal masterpiece.
